FAQs
Broadly speaking, anyone who is regularly impacted by, and can regularly observe, the person’s leadership in the flow of work. Depending on the role and context, it can involve direct reports, peers, project team members or senior managers.
Minimum 3 people need to be invited and minimum 50% must complete the scan before results can be generated.
Each leader sends out invitations to the Habit Scan via Yomento’s Habit Builder app. No central functions are involved in the process. Respondents are invited via email, with a link to the Habit scan. There is also an opportunity to send out invitations via sms.
A habit scan takes about 7-10 minutes to complete
The first two parts, which include questions about the leader’s behavioral frequency and trust, are anonymous. The last part, which gives each respondent an opportunity to list the top 3 behaviors they would like the leader to demonstrate in relation to them, is optional and becomes visible to the leader in the app.
After respondents have completed the Habit Scan, the leader will receive a “habit score” and a “trust score”. They will also be presented with the top 5 behaviors that their team has asked for them to do more frequently in the flow of work. Finally, they will also be able to see the 3 behaviors an individual respondent has requested, if they completed the optional part of the Habit Scan.
Individual results are displayed within the Habit Builder app, and therefore not visible to others. Aggregated habit scan data for different leader cohorts in an organization (which can be segmented into geography, business unit, seniority etc) are presented through Impact Reports in compliance with GDPR rules.

Yes. Before inviting colleagues and direct reports, each leader completes the Habit Scan as a self-assessment. While there are several insights to be gained from this process, the biggest value comes from inviting others and uncovering how one’s day to day leadership is perceived by the people you lead.
A few things: It is focused on behaviors and frequency (rather than competency statements and agree-disagree options) and is not designed to be evaluative. You can think of the habit scan as a “feedforward” process where each leader quickly sees which specific behaviors they can do even more often to set their colleagues up for success.
Our customers often apply Habit Scans in connection to their leadership programs. They are regularly used in the needs analysis phase to inform concept and content development. In addition, habit scans are used to evaluate the impact, RoI and level of behavioral change (level 4 in the Kirkpatrick model) of their leadership initiatives. Data from habit scans are also used to identify the development needs of different leaders in the organization, as well as one data point to identify high potentials that could be fast-tracked to more senior positions.
Your investment will depend on the number of leaders participating in the scan, whether you are looking for a standard scan (Yomento’s 60 behaviors) or a customized scan (focused on the habits aligned to your leadership framework, competency model or leadership initiative) and iif more scans are needed to track progress over time.
